BLANC//MASSE

(NURAI · UAE · 2022)

(RESIDENTIAL)

Blanc//Masse is conceived as a study of weight and light rather than a conventional seaside villa. The project explores how architecture can become a calm presence within an overwhelming landscape, where the horizon, the sea and the sun already dominate the experience. Instead of competing with this setting, the house frames it.

The architecture is defined by horizontal planes, controlled proportions and mineral surfaces. White volumes are treated as sculpted masses, their perception constantly changing with the movement of the sun. Deep recesses, shadows and voids soften the geometry and create a sequence of protected exterior spaces. The building does not rely on ornament; texture, thickness and light become the primary materials.

Blanc//Masse embodies a restrained form of luxury: silence, proportion and permanence. The project expresses a dialogue between brutalist principles and a maritime environment, where raw mass is tempered by reflection, salt air and the changing intensity of daylight.
