Noir Matière is conceived as a poetic exploration of brutality and serenity — a suspended sanctuary above the city. Designed for a penthouse at Lana Residences, Dorchester Collection, the project reinterprets brutalism through a deeply refined and emotional lens. Rather than celebrating mass and weight, it seeks to reveal the quiet beauty of materiality, light, and shadow.

ABOUT.
The context of Lana Residences plays a defining role in shaping the project’s identity. Positioned high above Dubai, the penthouse enjoys sweeping views of the skyline. Rather than competing with this dramatic exterior, the interior creates a counterpoint — an introspective world that invites the resident to turn inward. The architecture becomes a refuge, a retreat from the sensory intensity of the city. The contrast between the vastness outside and the intimate materiality inside enhances the sense of serenity the project aims to cultivate.

Ultimately, Noir Matière proposes a new interpretation of luxury: one rooted not in accumulation but in purity, texture, shadow, and the subtle power of restraint. It is a brutalist sanctuary in the sky — a place where architecture becomes emotion, and materiality becomes meditation.
